✨Market Days in Liskeard ✨

There’s something quiet magical about market days in Liskeard; a sense of community that hums with chatter, the scent of fresh coffee and produce in the air and the simple joy of connecting with people who care about what they create. This past couple of weekends have been a perfect reminder of that, with both The Workshed Collective Market and Liskeard Food Market bringing together an incredible blend of local talent, friendly faces, and heartfelt support.

Kicking things off each month, The Workshed Collective Market takes place on the first Saturday, setting the tone with a warm, creative energy. Running from 10am to 1pm, it’s always full of life. There’s something really special about those more intimate mornings, time to chat, connect, and truly appreciate the work of local makers.

Every visitor who comes through the Cattle market, brings support that genuinely means the world, and that shared gratitude is felt throughout the space.

Following on, the second Saturday of the month brings the ever so lovely Liskeard Food Market, a vibrant celebration of local flavour, plants, and produce. With a steady flow of familiar faces and new visitors alike, it’s a wonderful chance to reconnect, meet new people, and soak up that lively market atmosphere.

This past food market was especially memorable. It was so lovely seeing returning customers, chatting with fellow traders and organisers, and welcoming so many new faces. These are the moments that make market days so meaningful, the conversations, the laughter, and the shared appreciation for local, independent businesses.

Among the highlights of the day were two plant favourites: Argyranthemum and Saxifraga, clearly popular choices, and proof that the Liskeard community has excellent taste! It’s always a joy seeing people choose plants that will soon brighten their homes and gardens.

What truly stands out across both markets is the sense of community. There’s a genuine support between traders, a kindness in every interaction, and a shared pride in being part of something local and meaningful.

It’s not just about selling, it’s about connection, creativity, and creating spaces where people feel welcome.

Looking ahead, there’s plenty to be excited about. Looe Valley Plants is open Monday to Friday from 10:30am to 3pm, with fresh displays to enjoy (and closed on weekends for a well-earned rest!). The upcoming terrarium workshop on April 18th at 10:30am is fully booked and with monthly workshops now running every third Saturday due to popular demand, it’s a lovely way to get hands-on and creative.

These markets are more than just dates in the diary, they’re moments of connection woven into the rhythm of the month. First Saturday, second Saturday; each one offering something unique, but both rooted in the same beautiful community spirit.

Here’s to many more market mornings, familiar faces, and new connections in Liskeard. 💚🌸
